Wisniewski Mt. Pleasant Mazie Jean (Wilson) Wisniewski, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, in Excela Heath Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Wisniewski was born March 21, 1931, in Fitz Henry, the daughter of the late James and Goldie (Colbert) Wilson. She along with her family attended the former Transfiguration Parish. Mazie attended the former Hurst High School and had worked for more than 10 years for the former Moreland Sportswear of Youngwood. Mazie was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She lived for her family. She was best known for the many wedding and birthday cakes she made and for her delicious pies. She was a great cook and an excellent baker. Mazie also loved her bus trips to Atlantic City. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving and devoted family: her sons, William V. Wisniewski Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, and Leo J. Wisniewski Jr. and his wife, Carol, all of Mt. Pleasant. She will be greatly missed by the grandchildren she treasured, Jason Wisniewski and Racheal, William V. Wisniewski an! d Melissa, Travis Wisniewski and Brandy, Brandon Wisniewski and Crystal, Adam Wisniewski and Sarah, and Beth Leah Biondo; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mya Wisniewski. Mazie is also survived by her brothers and sister, James Wilson and Esther, of Mt. Pleasant, William Wilson and Doris, of Mendon, and Agnes Sann, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, Mazie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Wisniewski Sr., in 2007; and by her sister, Audrey Ray, in 1975. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant. A blessing service will be held at noon Saturday in the funeral home followed by her funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt.Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Pleasant, a son of the late Peter and Mary Ann Goscinak Wisniewski. Frank was retired from L.E. Smith Glass Co. He also previously worked at the former Bryce Brothers Glass Co. and also for Cook's Lumber Co. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy, and was a He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and attended St. Pius X and Visitation Roman Catholic churches. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Harriet M. Winearski Wisniewski, who died in 2007; a daughter, Linda Wisniewski; a son, Thomas Wisniewski; four brothers, John, Louis, Edward and Kasimer Wisniewski; and four sisters, Irene Wisniewski, Annie Jester, Viola Lukowski and Pearl Klasky. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Valatie, N.Y., June 2, 2011 Brother Edward Wisniewski, C.S.C. a resident of St. Joseph Center in Valatie, died this morning at Albany Medical Center after a long illness. Brother Edward was 78 years old and had been a professed member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross for 47 years. Edward Francis Wisniewski was born in Erie, Pa. on June 1, 1933, the third of five children of Theophil and Wanda (Jaglowski) Wisniewski. The Wisniewski family were communicants in Erie's parish of St. Stanislaus. Edward's elementary education was pursued at St. Stanislaus School from which he was graduated in 1950. He spent a year at Erie's Wilson Junior High School before transferring to Erie Technical High School, from which he graduated in 1954. Military service followed his high school education, serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 and receiving an honorable discharge. Before entering religious life, he was employed as a mail carrier by the U.S. Postal Service and as a sheet metal worker by the General Electric Company. Edward entered the Congregation of the Holy Cross at St. Joseph Juniorate, Valatie as a candidate for the Brotherhood on June 23, 1962. He received the habit of a Holy Cross Brother at St. Joseph Novitiate, Valatie on August 22, 1962. He made his profession of temporary vows on January 26, 1964 and his perpetual profession on August 22,1967. During his active ministry, Brother Edward did maintenance work in various apostolates of the Brothers of Holy Cross ! in N.Y., Conn., R.I., and Md. He was especially adept in cabinet making and the results of his skills may be found in the schools in which he worked. Brother Edward retired from active ministry in 1989 and devoted the remainder of his life to volunteering and the Ministry of Prayer. He received commendations for his volunteer work from St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven, Conn., the West Haven, Conn. Nursing Home, The Association of Retarded Citizens of Monroe County, N.Y., and the Literacy Volunteers of America. He moved to St. Joseph Center in Valatie in 1996. A viewing and wake service will be held in the chapel of St. Joseph Center in Valatie on Monday, June 6 at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the same chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7. Interment will follow immediately in the Holy Cross Community Cemetery on the grounds of St. Joseph Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Center Retirement Fund. He was born on November 9, 1947, in Erie, a son of the late Charles and Isabella Gigilotti Wisniewski. Richard served in the U.S. Army as a Spec. 4. He had been employed in the car business for 40 years, lately at Cramer Motors in North East. Richard was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and the North East Saddle Club for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Wisniewski and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Pohl Scott Wisniewski; a daughter, KarlaRae Wisniewski of Erie; a son, Kenneth Wisniewski of Erie; a step-son, Ryan D. Scott and his wife, Carla Miller Scott, of Chesapeake, Va.; four grandsons, Taven Smith, Justin and Brandon Wisniewski and Andrew Scott; a granddaughter, Lillian Rian Scott; a brother, Charles North and his wife, Margo, of Erie; a sister, Mary Ferguson of Erie; an aunt, Jean Coco of Erie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th St. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Frank V. and Verna Wisniewski Szczepaniak. She was married to Michael J. Banaszak, who passed away Sept. 26, 2006. Elizabeth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Years ago, she worked as a custodian at the former St. Joseph Elementary School in Everson. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Everson, a member of the Holy Rosary Society and the former St. Joseph Guild. Elizabeth enjoyed bingo at the Everson VFD hall and traveling to the casinos, especially in Atlantic City. Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her loving family: her three sons, Michael A. Banaszak and his wife, Lois, of Everson, David F. Banaszak and his wife, Linda, of Martinsburg, and Daniel Banaszak and his wife, Patti, of Everson; her four grandchil! dren, Dustin Banaszak, of Pittsburgh, Cassandra Nicolette and her husband, Brett, of Mt.
