Dear Sir or Madam, I am constantly looking for information about the Wisniewski family, especially its branch close to mine. My ancestor (my grand-grandfather) Aleksander (Alexander) Wisniewski left Poland to the United States about 1909 or 1910. According to the family documents, Aleksander Wisniewski was born in 1877 in LEONCIN, and died tragically, about 1939. In Poland he left his wife Rozalie (Rosalie) and two children - son Waclaw (born 1905) and daughter Karoline (born 1907). He travelled with his brother Jan (John) Wisniewski (born in 1881 in LEONCIN). Alexander and John's sister LEONCYNA (born in 1879 in LEONCIN) remained in Poland. In the United States, Jan (John) Wisniewski married and (probably) had two sons, one of them was a pilot. That is all I know about that branch of the family. In exchange for any information concerning the American line of the Wisniewski family I am able to offer the history of its Polish part which I have well documented. Looking forward to any response ==== WISNIEWSKI Mailing List ==== This WISNIEWSKI list is currently available for adoption! Interested in becoming the list manager? Welcome to the PANLENER Mailing List It was a big surprise to discover the names of my great-grandmother and her mother on a rootsweb-mailing-board. It is exciting to discover, there is another human being, living far away from Europe, who has the same roots as Dorota PANLENER and Marianna DZIEDZINSKA from SZRENSK. Researching for the same family is a good reason to start the rootsweb-surname-mailing-list: PANLENER. This unusual name comes from the Prussians living in SZRENSK, Mlawa, Mazowsze, Poland, where we have traced some of our ancestors birth. It is our goal to research the origin and the genealogy of the PANLENER (PANLEIN in Polish) family. We will be happy to find other living PANLENERs, and others who are related to the family. You are welcome to join PANLENER - mailing - list, if the name occurs in your own genealogy, if you research in the Mazowsze-region of Poland, or if you are interested for any other reason. +++Dagmar August+++ list-administrator+++ -- ************************************** OSTPREUSSEN : Osterode (Hohenstein) ; Neidenburg (Usdau) ************************************** POLSKA : Szrensk ************************************** AUGUST ; DENDA ; DUSCHA ; WILLAMOWSKI DZIEDZINSKI ; PANLENER / PANLEIN ************************************** mailto : geneal-art@gmx.net mailto : PANLENER-L-request@rootsweb.com

Surnames: Wisniewski, Nabozniak, Grala/Graller, Stawarz, Dean Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UEXBAIB/159 Message Board Post: I'm researching the family of Peter and Rose (Stawarz) [Grala] Graller who immigrated from Poland and settled in the Detroit area of Michigan in the early 1900's. (The original Polish form of the surname was Grala and it was "Americanized" to Graller shortly upon immigration; it remains as Graller today). Peter and Rose (Stawarz) Graller had at least 6 children, all of whom were baptized at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Detroit, MI. I am in possession of baptismal certificates of all the Graller children which include the names of the children's godparents. I've been trying to trace those names to determine any family relationships. One of the sons of Peter and Rose (Stawarz) Graller, Ronald Peter Graller, was born on 26 Jan 1933 in Detroit, Wayne Co., MI. He married Viola Marie Dean in about 1957. The godparents at his baptism were Victor Wisniewski and Veronica Nabozniak. Perhaps these two were married and Nabozniak was Veronica's maiden name? Does anyone have a Victor and Veronica (Nabozniak) Wisniewski? Godparents were chosen for a reason and if there is a family relationship between the Grala/Graller's and the Wisniewski's I'd be interested to know of it. Associated surnames through godparent's of the other Graller children are as follows: Koscielny/Kosciebny, Wygonik, Galarowic/Galarowicz, Winiarowski, Michalek, and Stawarz (maiden name of Rose Graller, the mother). If any of the above rings a bell with anyone, please let me know. Stephanie
