Martin had brothers George, Vincent, and Andrew. Their father was William.I know George and his wife Mary Ann (nee Dzewicki) had at least 10 children, some of them were named Max, Leo, Polly, Celia, Frances, and Annie. At the turn of the century they all lived in Foster, Michigan. Are we in the same branch of the family? By the way, some family members changed their name to Cherry, because in Polish a wisnie is a cherry.

Hi! While trying to track down my great-grandfather's death certificate, I've received one for Peter Wisniewski but he's not the Peter Wisniewski I was looking for. So, if you have a Peter Wisniewski in your family, who was born in New York in 1841, died in Chicago in 1918, and was married to Lillian---I've got a death certificate to give you. Let me know if this connects to anyone out there. Brian Columbus

There is Wysokie Mazowiecki in the north, Minsk Mazowiecki in the east, Tomaszow Mazowiecki in the south & Makow Mazowiecki in the west. Additionally, Rawa Mazowiecki is a few miles north of Thomaszow Mazowiecki in the south, Dwor Mazowiecki is a few miles northwest of Warsaw, & Ostrow Mazowiecki is centrally located in the north between Makow Mazowiecki & Wysokie Mazowiecki. If you could focus on one of these areas, there is plenty of information available in the Mormon Library.

Hi Emma---Could be a connection. My grandmother was Louise Wischnewski (even though the spelling is different, pronunciation seems the same) and she was born in East Prussia. She came to Iowa and married my grandfather --Fredrich W. Wittkowski in 1888. He was from Neudorfchen, West Prussia, which is not too far from Danzig and the border between East and West Prussia is in that area so it is possible that there could be a connection. I don't have too much info on the Wischnewski family, but I do know that my grandmother had a sister named Tina. I would be glad to hear and see if u think there might be a connection. Thanks, Bill Wittkowski
Bill, Any relation to the WITKOWSKI's in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin? Susan snokes@tscnet.com
Hi, My Wisniewskis also came from Poland. From an area about 40 miles south of Danzig. Are any of yours from that area? Erna >
