Mayer, 85, of 1322 Union Ave, died late Tuesday night at St. Nicholas Hospital. The former Genevieve Grittner was born Jan 17,1900 in Chilton, a daughter of Joseph and Martha Wiesner Grittner. She attended St. Mary Catholic School in Chilton. On May 25, 1926, she married John Mayer in Chilton. Mr. Mayer died in 1974. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. E.B. ( Ruth) Henson of Burlington,VT and Mrs. Judith Risser of Wauwatosa; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Grittner of Chilton. Five brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 pm at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Koch, of St. Paul United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 am Friday until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Mayer's name.
