I am looking for a Mathilda Kasten in the 1920 and 1930 Census for sheboygan County. Mathilda died on August 14, 1935. I would speculate that she would be in both census's, however have not been able to locate her on the index provided at ancestry.com. I am trying to find out where she was born and where her parents were born. >From her marriage record, she was born in Cooperstown in Manitowoc County in 1853. She married August Kasten on Nov. 12, 1877 in Manitowoc County. Her father's name is listed as Georges Boehm. Mathilda died on August 14, 1935 and is buried somewhere in Wildwood Cemetery. Apparently there is no marker for her grave. Any and all help would be most appreciated. Paula
At times, a relative will take in a relative (for whatever reason) and they will be listed accordingly as to the relationship to the head of the house (in a federal census year). Not sure how Wisconsin did it on their census reports. You may have to find brother, sister, or child of Mathilda which may be another whole project in itself!!
