Dedication ceremony was August, 1855. In 1857 this church joined the MO synod. Where exactly this first bulding was located I do not know. Currently the church address is: W5406 County Road Ss, Random Lake, WI 53075 - this location is out in the country in an area called "Sherman Center". The associated school is celebrating it's 148 year aniversary this year. I have been told by a Pastor living in the area that "Sherman Center" is not a town, village or incorporated entity. It apparently was a planned area that was hoping to have the train station located there many years ago (I am guessing that was in the 1860s), however, the train station was placed in Adell and thus "Sherman Center" never developed past this initial planing. With the train station, Adell became the local Post Office. Since St. John's (St. Johannis) was about halfway in-between Random Lake and Adell it is likely that its early address would have been associated with the Post Office in Adell. 2) According to my sources Adell did not have a Lutheran Church until 1916 when the congregation, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, was formed. This is also a MO synod affiliated church. I am told that this is a sister church to St. John's in Sherman Center, and that the two churches have in the past shared the same Pastor. 3) St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Church was founded in 1855. Currently located at 705 Grand Avenue, Random Lake, WI. This church is currently ELCA affiliated. 4) St. John's United Church of Christ. The original congregation was organized in 1868. Its first house of worship stood on a hill about one-half mile south of Clover Valley in Fredonia Township, Ozaukee County, WI. This church was called "Deutschen Ev. St. Johannes Gemeinde". In the early 1890s this church disbanded. A number of folks felt the need for a house of worship in the village of Random Lake. Necessary steps were taken in that direction and consequently the abandened house of worship in Ozaukee County was taken down and the timbers were used in erecting the new church. The bulding was dedicated in the year 1903. The church was then called St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Random Lake, WI. 5) St. Paul's United Church of Christ. This church is located in Silver Creek, Sheman Township. Its address is W6548 State Road 144, Random Lake, WI. This church was organized prior to 1894 and was originally called St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church. Tom
