Head Madeline K. Head, 91, a resident of Harmony for the last two years, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 10, 2003, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after a brief Illness. She had resided in the 2600 block of N. Ninth Street for 60 years. Madeline was born in Town of Wilson on Oct. 21, 1911, a daughter of F. William and Helen (Wolf) Gartman. She attended Holy Name Elementary School and was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1929. Prior to her marriage she was employed at the Sheboygan Clinic. On July 15, 1935, in Janesville, Madeline and Roy V. Head of Sheboygan were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1993. Madeline was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic Parish. Survivors include a daughter Helen (Peter) Reinhardt of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sons, Jerome (Nancy) Head of Evanston, Ill., and Kenneth Head of Boca Raton, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Pat Head of Milwaukee; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Alex and Lindsay Head. In addition to her husband, Madeline was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, three brothers and three sisters. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. James E. Connell, pastor of Holy Name Catholic Parish, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held Sunday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Madeline's name. Madeline was a devoted wife and mother. She will be especially remembered for her alert mind and exceptional memory.
