BROGAN TO YIELD, HE TELLS SHERIFF [No Newspaper Name] [No Date] WARRANT DUE TO DEATH OF MRS. KASTEN Operation by Doctor Is Alleged to Be Cause of Woman's Death; Hus- Makes Charges. Dr. H. P. BROGAN, West Allis physician, named on Monday in a warrant charging manslaughter, will surrender to the sheriff in a short time, according to his attorney, with whom the doctor was closeted Tuesday morning. Dr. BROGAN, who was not at home when a deputy sheriff arrived to serve the warrant, is said by the sheriff to have telephones Monday night to say that he would give himself up as soon as he had arranged matter for his defense. BAIL SET AT $5,000. The bail for Dr. BROGAN was set at $5,000 by John WOLLER, clerk of courts. The amount is not fixed and may be changed during the expected arraignment in District court before Judge PAGE, on Tuesday. Dr. BROGAN was ordered held last Wednesday following the report of a coroner's investigation into the death of Mrs. Fred KASTEN, 530 Sixty-third avenue. Mrs. KASTEN was said by the jury to have died as a result of an operation alleged to have been performed by Dr. BROGAN. Testimony at the inquest showed that Dr. BROGAN had called at the KASTEN home at 11:30 o'clock on the night of Nov. 26 to attend Mrs. KASTEN in childbirth. OTHERS WERE CALLED The woman's condition became critical and Drs. Ernest E.K. COUCH, S.M., MOLLINGER and John C. SCHROEDER were called. The case came to light through Frank KOELSCH, West Allis undertaker, who reported it to the coroner when the body was brought to his parlor. The warrant was sworn to on Monday by Fred KASTEN, husband of the dead woman and her father, E.H. (??)rprise.
