Hi, While researching MY Lindsay family in Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin, I came across the following article and thought maybe it would help someone out there looking for Stewart Lindsay. I don't know anything more about him. Other names mentioned in the obituary are: ELLIOTT, LINDSAY, LALLY, SHAW, SKIDMORE, HOSTMAN, HAND, LALB?, GARDNER, ZIEGLER & HALL Kay R GEORGE ELLIOTT, AGED MAN, IS DEAD AT PLYMOUTH HOME At eleven o'clock Saturday evening, George ELLIOTT, 71, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart LINDSAY, Milwaukee avenue, Plymouth. Death was due to chronic rheumatism, with which he suffered since childhood. The deceased was born in St. Petersburg, Canada, 1847. He came to the United States when about twenty years old and lived in Milwaukee several years. At the time of the Chicago fire, he was a member of the Milwaukee volunteer fire department and went to Chicago and assisted in subduing that great conflagration. Mrs. ELLIOTT, who died twenty-seven years ago, was Miss Katherine LALLY. She and her husband for a number of years lived in Stevens Point. For the past nine years he made his home with Mrs. LINDSAY and at intervals with his son, William, at Kenosha. Mr. ELLIOTT was a stone cutter by trade. He leaves the following children: Mrs. Fred SHAW, Sheboygan; Mrs. S. LINDSAY, Plymouth; Michael ELLIOTT, Portland, Oregon; George, Port Angeles, Wash.; and William, Kenosha. There are also five grandchildren. The funeral was held at 10 a. m. Tuesday from the LINDSAY residence. Rev. SKIDMORE conducted the services and interment was made in the Woodlawn cemetery. H. W. HOSTMAN, M. H. HAND, C. F. LALB, J. A. LINDSAY, R. GARDNER and A. ZIEGLER acted as pallbearers. Anthony Lally, Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Earl HALL, Milwaukee as well as the children who live in Wisconsin attended the funeral.
