To add my two cents in not that it will do too many of the folks in Wis. any good. I went to the library the other day to select the next set of books to do lookups from for states in Tn, and Ms. (if you have relatives there contact me and I'll look them up). In one of the books there was Mississippians in the Mexican war rosters. In the book they made mention to the Miss. Dept. of Archives and History having the records in their custody. Goodspeed's Biographical & Historical Memoirs of Mississippi was published out of Chicago in 1891. The rolls were printed in that book. Some of the rolls were reprinted in the following book. What I'm getting at is maybe your library has a nice gem in its corner shelf that is overlooked. I certainly didn't expect to find this type of book in our tiny little library in a town of 2,500 people. The book that I have on loan from the library is Mississippi Genealogy and Local History Vol. 3, 1974 by Gillis. It was a magazine that was published in the state four times a year.
