    3. Hi Robert, Thanks for the information! I have already been to the NARA website regarding the Pensions records but got confused over which forms I need to fill out. Someone told me I had to file Form 80 but according to NARA website if you are ordering Pension/Military files that are over 75 years old you need to order Form 85 or Form 86. The last time I ordered from NARA it took 3 months to receive the information. Thanks again, Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: rloss@bellsouth.net To: WISHEBOY-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2001 7:37 AM Subject: Re: Another Veterern Question Good timing! Just got an eMail yesterday for records check of a possible relative that served in the New York 5th Volunteer Regiment. The webmaster of their site provided the following address to me for accessing the Union Military Records of the Civil War: www.nara.gov By the way, mine was listed as M.I.A. in March of 1865, a P.O.W. on April 6th of 1865 and released from duty (mustered out) on the 13 of April of 1865, then turned up in Huron County Michigan in the late 1890's. Not sure exactly what is on this site. I think it has links to their various documents that they mail to you, you fill them out as best you can and then snail mail them back. No idea the length of time involved for retrieval of information, if they have any. Don't know how many of you would be interested in this site. It is for German Soldier war deaths of WW1 and WW2: www.volksbund.de
