    2. I'm sending this to both the Mitchell and Sheboygan Co. lists, so for those of you who subscribe to both, my apologies for the duplication. The Plymouth Review interviewed my father regarding his recently released book re: the immigration and settlement of the Irish in the Byron-Lima Settlement of Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Counties during the mid to late 1800s. To view the article, go to http://www.plymouth-review.com/text/fsod.htm If you have any questions or would like me to check the index of "A Bit of the Old Sod" for your surnames, let me know. 1. [WISHEBOY] Sheboygan Bible
    2. Debie & Joe
    3. Hi Jan, I must admit you have me on this one. I am born and raised and still reside here in Sheboygan and with my 36 years (shhh! don't tell anyone I told you.<G>) I have never heard of the Sheboygan Bible. I, in turn talked to some more experienced people in the field of researching Sheboygan County and none of them ever heard of that term or item either. Not knowing if this was a true book or just another term for something else, I tossed it to them at both angels and no one knew. Can you tell us more about it? Perhaps Someone else knows and has already answered you, if so, please share. Let us know if you know more about this. Debie Earn cash surfing the web!!!! I Am!! 2. I have heard of the Sheboygan Bible many times and that there are references to the surname of DE LONG. I am interested in seeing what data is in there. Where can I find a copy? The DE LONG line that I am following went to Minnesota but like many family genealogists I enjoy reading anything I can find on the family even if it isn't the line I am researching. 1. [WISHEBOY] 1855 WI State census request
    2. If someone has access to the WI State 1855 census, I would like to request a transcription of the family of Jeremiah PRESTON, Lyndon, Sheboygan Co., WI. I am not familiar enough with the Wisconsin State census, would the 1855 census list all family members or just the head-of-household? If it just lists the head-of-household, I will not need a transcription. Trying to find all children of Jeremiah. In return, I can look up a person you might need on any of the Federal census or a soundex lookup. 1. [WISHEBOY] Waldo High School Class of 1924
    2. Hi Everyone, While going through my "stuff" looking for pictures for Kay R's project, I came across a newspaper clipping taken from the Plymouth Review. I'm guessing it was published about 5 years ago. The caption reads as follows: 1924 WALDO GRADUATING CLASS: Front row, left to right: Leona Salter, Audrey Darling, Alice Torke, LaMar Pierce, Milton Schuette, James Blekkink, Milford Harmelink, Elmer Hoffman. Second row: Dorothy Blekkenk, Isabel Murphy, Hattie Hess, Pearl Lammers, Ethel Liebenstein, Hilda Buchholz, Margaret O'Reilly, Ella Te Hennepe. Third row: Velma Schuette, Charles Baer, Milton Hoffman, Helen Wilterdink, Virgilin Doherty, Nina Pietsch. The photograph was taken in 1921, as entering freshmen to Waldo high school. If anyone would like a copy of the clipping, contact me at mclipp5@aol.com, but please do so in the next few days as I plan on switching providers in the near future. I believe it may also be possible to obtain a (better quality) copy from The Review. Connie Michaels-Lipp

    3. Hi, As you may or may not know, I am re-typing Thomas Heraty's Diary. As I type the entries year by year, I notice that in many places I have quite a lot of blank space. I would like to put pictures in these spaces of people and places mentioned in Thomas Heraty's diary. If you have any pictures of people or places mentioned, please scan them, if possible, and e-mail me at: reitstuf@ticon.net Debie Blindauer has generously offered to scan the pictures, if you mail them to her with the return postage. Her e-mail address is: sebring@excel.net Before you get TOO excited, this diary is NOT for sale. I am making a copy for Thomas Heraty's granddaughter. However, if you haven't noticed, there is a copy of the years 1863 through 1865 on The Sheboygan County Page, and more will be added as they get typed. Here's the URL for the Sheboygan County Page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wisheboy/sheboygn.htm Thanks so much, Kay R reitstuf@ticon.net

    1. [WISHEBOY] New Subscriber Query about HUYCKs
    2. Warren A. Huyck
    3. I'm a new subscriber to this group, and pretty new at genealogy, too. I know my 2g-grandfather, Aaron Huyck, moved to the area from Canada in about 1852, but I don't have much information about which of his 11 children or other family members moved there with him. My line of descent comes through his 7th child, James Wellington Huyck. His son, James Herbert Huyck was my grandfather. He died when I was 3 and I just barely remember meeting him. My father, James Kenneth Huyck, was born in Hingham. I know I have a number of cousins in the Sheboygan Falls area, and I'm confident there area others I don't know of. Does anyone on the mailing list know of anyone with information about this family group? I saw reference once to a family Bible used by Aaron's family - one which was rescued from a burning church or library or something in the south during the Civil War. I would love to hear if that Bible is around somewhere, and what the story is behind it. Thanks for any help. Warren A. Huyck (currently living in Raleigh, NC)

    1. [WISHEBOY] Rammer & Wolfinger Family
    2. Debie & Joe
    3. Hi All, If you receive these messages twice, it is because I am sending them to both Mitchell and Sheboygan mailing lists like I do everything else I send to you. I seem to have caused some confusion by doing that without telling you, sorry about that. I need your help. I am looking for anyone who is researching the Rammer line in Sheboygan County. I received a phone call this morning from a cousin to my husband. Her grandson is in desparate need of medical information from his ancestors. I can supply the Blindauer and Dreps information, but it so happens the Rammers tie in here also and I don't have that. This little boy is 7 years old and has dealt with more in his 7 years of life than anyone should have to deal with in a lifetime. Four years ago he had a tumor removed from the side of his head, the tumor came back now and upon doing a CT scan they discovered his brain is shrinking. The doctor's looked at the parents yesterday and said start doing medical history digging on the ancestors to this boy. The Rammer line in particular is Cecelia A. Rammer, her parents were: Ferdinand and Johanna (Wolfinger) Rammer. If anyone can help, please contact me directly and I will answer any other questions you may have. Thanks for your time, Debie

    3. Hi All, I have finished adding the last two census records for 1865 that Mary R. sent. They are the 1865 Town of Plymouth and Town of Sheboygan. You can find them on the Genweb page under the census and click and go from there. I will now be going back to the vital indexes and parent names again. If any of you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail. I know I have two for sure that are in need of parent look-ups, hang in there, I am hoping to get to those this week, just haven't had the time to get to the R. of D. to do them. Thanks for your patience, Debie

    1. [WISHEBOY] More on-line
    2. Debie & Joe
    3. Hi All, Sorry for the delay in getting information on-line, it has been a busy time here with my husband in the hospital battling to keep his leg. I am back to a somewhat normal routine here for me and have gotten some information on-line. Amy must take the credit for the major chunk of info going on-line though. Amy has gotten the Haa - Haq birth indexes on-line for us. These are under the vital section under the births of course. :) Next I have gotten the 1865 Town of Holland that Mary R. sent to me on-line. I am currently working on the Town of Plymouth and am hoping to get that on-line tonight. If I am lucky enough to do that, I will send one more e-mail letting you know it is there. Thanks for your patience, I know you have all been waiting a while for these vital indexes and we are doing our best to get them on-line. After the census is on-line that Mary sent, I will add more parent names I have here waiting to go on. Hope you all are having a great week, if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail and ask, Debie
