I received land purchase information from the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center for my Lott W. Wright and his second wife Emily. In the description it states "land used by 1st parties as a grave yard and 1st party to keep same fenced property" I had been looking for the grave and/or death information on Lott's first wife Margaret and now I am wondering if she was buried on their property and that is the reason I have been unable to locate any information on her. Was it a common practice to bury family members on their own property? This would have been an early death of around 1849. Thanks Linda

As for her death, that is not recorded in the Vital Records. The first death recorded under Hu is in 1879. The first Hull death is that of William who date of death is listed as Jan. 27, 1894. This is recorded in Deaths Volume 6 page 217-865. Sorry this isn't much help.

I have information that will be interesting to you. I've been hearing about and researching old Adolph (immigrant) since I was a teenager. He and his first wife, Elisebet were descended from European nobility and lived very colorful lives here. I have been interested in finding out more about the California ST. SURE families and completing more of the story of this interesting family. Tell me how you are related. Please email me privately with your email address. We can exchange postal addresses as well, but I'd rather do that off the message board. I will be eager to hear from you. ---Pam Berger, berger@netstream.net

I am wondering if we have a connection through the Knuth line. My great grandpa was Edward Knuth, born in Milwaukee in 1888 (son of Herman Knuth, we believe). He married in Plymouth in 1923 (Nora Wittkopp) and then died in Milwaukee in 1960. He had a child from a previous marriage and then proceeded to adopt Nora's child George. George was my grandpa. Edward's siblings are Anna Vokel, Laura Schwalbe, and Emil. Herman was married to Augusta Mugenberg(sp)...most of this information came off of Herman's will. What do you think? A response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

She had married Carl Ziemke. Anna's parents were Karl F. Schumacher (1866-1947) and Augusta Kaufmann (1862-1943). Karl's parents were Johann Schumacher, Sr (1822-1903) and Maria D. Vieck (1838-1932). Karl's siblings were Elizabeth (1861-1936) the wife of Frederick C. Kaufmann; and a brother Johann, Jr (1865-1868). These Schumachers are believed to have been from the Mecklenburg / Schwerin region of northeast Germany...a distant from Worms...but you never know. They lived primarily in southern Township Herman and northern Township Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. They also mainly attended St. Luke's Church between Howards Grove and Sheboygan Falls along highway 32. Does this make any other connections with your families?

I think there must be a connection but I have no hard evidence yet. My Anna M. Schumacher was born in 1857 in the Sheboygan area, as was her husband, Peter H. Jung. The interesting thing you said was that your Simon lived in the area of Herman. I have recently connected with Barb Bednarz whose Gedcom I was able to import because her Silbernagel line included Peter Jung's mother Catherine Silbernagel and her brother Johann Jacob was a resident of Herman (he married Christine Wasserberger in 1850 in Herman.) A few monthes ago I talked with Bruce Rautmann, who mentioned that his family tree includes some 2500 people, and he mentioned Ada village, Herman Township, Sheboygan Co.
