Lyndon in on the hill on Hwy 57 and F. Winooski is on U west of E. The book says the area was called Onion River on the east end of what is Waldo, and Winooski on the west end. Then called Lyndon Station for awhile, and finally Waldo in 1923. Hope that gives you two more good leads.

I found an 1850 Wisconsin Census for Two Rivers Township, WI (near where my grandfather was raised) showing a Matilda (9 yrs.) in the family of A.D. Lamere (from Canada) and mother Hannah from Scotland. A.D. (also noted as Adolph D) Lamere was born in Canada around 1820 and came to the USA sometime before 1840. Mathilde married Daniel Gill and lived in Sheboygan, WI The "Lemieux" name came from the marriage record of my grandfather, where it listed his mother as "Mary Lemieux". The LDS FamilySearch lists Daniel Gill and Mathilde "Lemere" as parents of my grandfather and his siblings.

Dates, birth, death, place buried, parents names, etc. Thanks in advance. ------------story-------------- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~calumet/16.htm At Waupan, Wis., on the 30th day of May 1866, by Rev. Henry S. Fish, Mr. Stephen H. Hibbard, of Chilton married Mrs. H. Pillsbury (nee: Harriet Parker), of Trenton, Dodge, Co. Wis. "Steve" was a member of the 14th and afterwards of the 48th regiment of this State. He was a brave soldier and is an obliging and accommodating neighbor. His numerous friends will be pleased to learn that his patriotism has been rewarded by the smiles of a handsome widow. We are aware that several of our female friends are disappointed at this unexpected turn of affairs, and all the consolations we can offer is to advise them to keep "hoping on" even if "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick" -------- end of story ---------- NOTE: Mrs. H. Pillsbury, her 1st husband was Granville Pillsbury, he died Civil War (POW) XMAS 1864. POSTED on Calumet, Fondy, Manty and Sheb boards.
