Stanstead, Quebec, CAN; Phelps, Ontario Co, NY; Kirtland, Ohio; Chagrin, Ohio; Sheboygan County, Wisconsin; Allamakee County, Iowa. For a few years now we've been trying to connect David Henry McGoon, b. 1 Feb 1813, Stanstead, Quebec, CAN to his parents. There is some speculation his father is Simeon son of Jonathan Leavitt Magoon (b. 1 Jun 1755), but there is more speculation that he is the son of Charles David also a son of Jonathan Leavitt Magoon. 1] A speculation is that Charles David was married to a part or whole-bloodied Indian by the name of Harriet Bray. Harriet could be first or middle name. We do know that many Brays lived in the area of where David Henry settled (Allamakee County, Iowa) and David Henry even named one of his children John Bray McGoon, but we've yet to marriage-connect a Bray to a Magoon. If Charles David is the father we are fairly sure he died about 1814. We are fairly sure his mother remarried but have no idea to whom and if they were with David in Ohio, Wisconsin and then Iowa. 2] Much research has been done on David Henry and much of it is pretty well validated. We don't know where David Henry was from 1813 until 1832 when we find him in Ohio. It appears Lewis Magoon is also there. David Henry leaves Ohio for Wisconsin in mid-1840's then on to Iowa just before 1860 where he stayed until his death in 1891. It appears again that Lewis Magoon is in this area with him. 3] David's wife was Delila FRANCIS (2nd wife). Her father Levi is in Phelps, Ontario Co, NY along with the MARBLE's, Delila's mother's maiden name. The FRANCIS family and many from the MARBLE family end up in Ohio in the area where David Henry is. We do not know if they met there or if their relationship began back in Ontario Co, NY. Some FRANCIS and MARBLE family members also end up in Allamakee County, IA. If anyone has any information which would update what we have or provide any possible connections to the family names mentioned, I would certainly appreciate your help. Sincerely, Mike Peterson

Logan (age 51, born in Wisconsin, Father born in GA, Mother born in MA) as the head of the household, he is employed as a Securities salesman; Louise M. Logan (age 45, born in Ohio, Father born in Austria, Mother born in Germany) as William's wife; Howard E. Logan (age 27, born in Ohio, Father born in WI, Mother born in OH) as William's son. Howard is working as a credit manager for a store. The information from the 1920 census shows the same household composition, and the information I could read is in agreement with the 1930 census. The 1920 census was hard to read and I was unable to make out the occupations of William & Howard.

    1. Kathleen Gariety killed in Yemin
    2. reitstuf
    3. For those of you who don't know: The Kathleen Gariety killed in Yemin had Mitchell, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin ties. Below is the press release from The Milwaukee Sentinel and a shortened family tree created by Mrs. Lorraine (Gariety) Richtig Associated Press Published Dec. 30, 2002 GAR31 MILWAUKEE - Kathleen Gariety's family had tried to persuade her to stay in Wisconsin this summer, but the Baptist aid worker from suburban Wauwatosa had insisted on returning to Yemen. Gariety, 53, was among three Americans shot and killed Monday by a suspected Muslim extremist at the Yemeni hospital where they worked. ``We tried hard to get her to stay home,'' said her brother, Jerome J. Gariety Jr. of Colgate. ``She wouldn't hear of that.'' His sister's work and her love for the local children she helped there gave her reason to return, he said. Gariety was killed when an attacker entered a room in the hospital where she was meeting with other workers, according to the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. Also killed were hospital director William Koehn, 60, of Arlington, Texas, and Dr. Martha Myers, 57, of Montgomery, Ala. Gariety's sister, Mary Naylor of Oconomowoc, said she always feared something would happen to her sister in Yemen, but she had worried it would take place outside the hospital compound. ``It's just so hard to believe - not unexpected, but hard,'' Naylor said. The family last saw Gariety for six weeks during the summer, when they tried hard to get her to remain in Wisconsin. Gariety, born and raised a Catholic, had once thought of becoming a nun. Instead, she became a Baptist in the 1980s after meeting a minister in Michigan, where she managed a college bookstore, her family said. She joined the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in 1992 and was assigned to the Jibla Baptist Hospital in southern Yemen later that year as a purchasing agent. The family worried for her safety but understood her desire to undertake the aid work. ``She really felt fulfilled in her life,'' Jerome Gariety said. ``This is where the Lord wanted her, and He comes number one.'' Kathleen Gariety graduated from Pius High School in the Milwaukee area in 1967. According to the Pius XI Journal, the school's yearbook, she was involved in Mission Club, Future Teachers of America and the Pep Club, said Chris Schulteis, the school's director of institutional advancement. Gariety earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in art in 1972 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, said Karla Ashenhurst, a spokeswoman for the college. Gariety did some graduate work at the university over three or four semesters ``here and there'' but did not finish her master's degree, Ashenhurst said. Here is a short family tree for Kathy Gariety: Patrick Geraghty & Bridget Kelly B: 1850 in Ireland B: 1833 in Ireland D: 1899 in Mitchell They had: Edward Gariety & Emma Naughton B: 4 July 1866 B: 30 January 1870 D: 1 April 1925 D: 21 June 1947 Their children were: 1.
