    1. Unidentified subject!
    2. Hello, I am new to the Sheboygan County List. There are only two names I am researching in Sheboygan County and they are SEDLAR & STREPHONCHECK. The latter name may be a misspelling since I cannot find that name anywhere on the internet. However, that is what was on the birth certificate. Anton SEDLAR emmigrated to Sheboygan in 1900. He met up with his brother John SEDLAR who was already in Sheboygan. Anton's wife Mary (nee STREPHONCHECK) and their three children, Joseph, John & Rosalie came by boat February 1, 1903 from Gottschee, Austria. On the ship's registery she indicates her destination is her husband on VITAR AVE, Sheboygan, WI. First off, does any have any info on these surnames? Secondly, I am not familar with Sheboygan and have not been able to find VITAR AVE on a map. Does anyone know if this could be a different street name and if so what it could be?? Thanks! Sincerely, Diane P. Kriese

Surnames: Vruwink Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2FC.2ACI/73.150 Message Board Post: Hi, Don't know if you are still working on this topic, but I have just recently been digging through my family history files, and I do have some information about an ancestor that was in the Civil War. I don't have a scanner, but if you send me your regular mailing address, I would be happy to send you a copy of what I have. It is a Certificate of Service for Arnt John Van Vrink (which is a slaughtered spelling for Vruwink) that tells he was hurt at the battle of Hatcher's Run, Virginia on February 7, 1865. I also have a copy of a letter from a Major General, dated January 26, 1931 explaining about the confusion with the last name, and a bit of an explanation about where he was drafted from, etc. I am new to this computer message posting stuff - but hope this will get through to you and will be helpful. I would also be interested to know what information you have. Oh, and the Vruwinks are from Cedar Grove/Oostburg, Wisconsin. Are you related to Al or Judy Risseeuw from Cedar Grove? Hope to hear from you. Diane (Vruwink) Carlson

    1. [WI-Sheboy] DANECKI in Oostburg
    2. I am new to the list and am trying to help a friend with their family history. The family I am looking for was living in Oostburg, Sheboygan County in 1930. "Walter" Wladislaw DANECKI, his wife Sophia and their children: Leonard b. 1918, Janet b. 1916, Walter b. 1922, Edward b. 1924, Daniel b. 1927 and Raymond b. 1928. The family was Polish/Catholic. Walter was listed in the 1930 census as being fireman at "Quilk Couroray"(??). Would anyone know of what this could possibly mean? Some of things I would be interested in finding on the family is how long they lived in Oostburg, if any descendents may be living there still and if any of the family was married or buried in Oostburg. Walter and Sophia would be my friends grandparents, his parents were Leonard DANECKI and Hazel KELM(S). Since his father died when he was 6 yrs. old and he never got to know any of this side of his family I would very much appreciate any details that someone may know of on this family. Thank you, Sally in Waukesha County, Wisconsin

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2FC.2ACI/1252.1 Message Board Post: Wondering what your connection is to Amanda Gardner? I am the granddaughter of her sister, Minnie Mallmann. I have just started the "Behr" side - I know her father (Joseph) was killed on 09/13/1937 from a car accident - In fact, my mother was sitting on the porch at the Mallmann farm where and when the accident occurred. I know his nephew, Edwin Guhl, was the driver. Joseph had a sister, Sophie Behr-Guhl b. 08/27/1860 d. 05/29/1958 of Plymouth, which I have a few connections. I do not have anything on brother, Peter, of Clark Co. or sister, Mrs. Henry Daeke of Marathon Co. (addresses from Joseph's obit) - Also, Sophie's obit says parents were John/Marie Behr and emigrated directly to Sheboygan Co. in about 1882. If you have anything you could share with me, I would greatly appreciate it. Bette
