    3. Are you aware of the civil war roster database through the Wisconsin Veteran's Museum? It's a database of enlistments in Wisconsin regiments only - you can also have a document printed detailing your soldier's service record. Their website explains the details but you may have to request someone on their staff (or an independent researcher) to get the printed details for you - I don't think the full features are available through the website. Good luck! http://museum.dva.state.wi.us/RC_SearchCollections.asp > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2FC.2ACI/1735.1 > > Message Board Post: > > This could be the Michael Rooney you're looking for. 3. Did you try contacting the state vital records office in Madison? I was not able to locate some documents (birth, marriage, death) at the county level but lo and behold! The State Vital Records dept. had copies (which would've been produced in the county with a copy sent to the state office). I've also had a friend tell me that a document they found at the State Vital Records office had "different" information than the same event document filed in the county. These weren't necessarily Sheboygan county but if it happened in nearby counties (Brown, Manitowoc, Fond du Lac in our cases) it could've happened with Sheboygan. Their web-site is: http://www.dhfs.state.wi.us/VitalRecords/index.htm Have you contacted the Sheboygan Historical Research Center? They have volunteers who may be able to do a look-up of information in their holdings (they have quite a collection of documents) Their web-site is: http://www.schrc.org/ Good Luck ! > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Cerull - Zerull > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2FC.2ACI/1736 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for any information on August Cerull died 5/16/1933 age 53 yrs. This is the area from which my Molitors came, and they intertwined with other family names in my ancestry too, many of whom moved to east central Wisconsin.
