Carl Thieme married to a young Alvena (b. 1851), with Gustave born in 1867, followed by Otto, Carl Jr. , Alvena, Loisa. Possibly and 2nd Marriage for Carl. Gustave ends up in Cecil, Shawano, WI in 1895-1925....has three children Frieda, Harry, Esther. Does anyone have anything on this branch of Thieme's? Sylvester was born in Sheboygan on Sept. 18, 1917, a son of the late John and Katherine (Gartman) Mersberger. He attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan High School. On Sept. 12, 1939, he married the former Elizabeth "Elsie" Rammer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. he had been employed as a machinist at the Kohler Company and a member of their Quarter Century Club. Following his retirement, he was a tour guide at the Kohler Company. Sy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and being a member of the Bean Bag League at the Senior Center. He will be dearly missed by his family. Survivors include his dear wife, Elsie; his children, Helen (Gene) Brandl of Sheboygan, Robert (Barbara) Mersberger of Fort Smith, Ark., Thomas (Toby) Mersberger and Carl Mersberger, all of Sheboygan, Leo (Kathy) Mersberger of Manassa, Va., Fredrich Mersberger of Chariton, Iowa, and Teresa (Dennis) Rammer and Clare (David) Gartman all of Sheboygan; 26 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann (William) Marotz of Sheboygan and Ruth McClain of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia; and a son, John; a brother, Roman and his wife, Betty Mersberger; and a brother-in-law, Mac McClain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Mersberger on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Dineen as celebrant and Deacon Michael Burch assisting. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, 1144 S. 11th St., on Sunday, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass at 4:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Sylvester's name. James Cherne. The bride wore a gown of white georgette, trimmed with beads and her veil was arranged in Spanish effect, trimmed with pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of carnations, sweetpeas and bachelor buttons. Miss Mary Drews, a sister of the groom, was the maid-of-honor. She wore a lavender chiffon voile dress, trimmed with lace and carried an arm bouquet of pink carnations. Stanley Lorger, brother of the bride was the best man. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony, where the decorations were in a color scheme of lavender and white. At six o'clock a wedding dinner was served to 100 guests and after the dinner dancing was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Drews will be at home to their many friends after July first, on Indiana avenue.

His father was a former sheriff of Sheboygan county. The Rev. H.H. Wegner read the marriage ceremony. The bride was attired in a silk marquisette gown fashioned with a torso length bodice and bouffant skirt with a deep ruffle around the hemline of the skirt and long train. Chantilly lace fashioned the tiara which held her fingertip length veil. She held a bridal bouquet of white flowers. Her attendants were Miss Elvera Fischer as maid of honor and Miss Carol Steffen as bridemaid. The junior attendant was Arlene Henning. Wilbert Zehms attended his brother as best man and the ushers were the bride's brother, Melvin Steffen and James Ebbers of Oostburg. During the evening there was a reception at the Pleasant hall. After a short wedding trip Mrs. Zehms will return to Sheboygan and her husband to Bolling Field. She will join him later.

Also, if you are near the LDS library in Milwaukee they have the Catholic church records for Sheboygan County and its free. I don't know if you are in another area of the country if you can "borrow" the Milwaukee films or not. I am not member of LDS, but they are very helpful. When I look at the records myself I check baptisms, marriages, ect. and look at the sponsor information as well for family connections. Question for you guru's out there familiar with Wisconsin Census on the "5" years........., when did they begin and when did they end?? Were they only done five years after the Federal Census or did they also do them along with the Federal Census on the Federal years?? I would assume that the state has copies........and you have to pay someone do do lookups....Yes??............anyone have an address or URL for contacts, or any person specializing in this sort of thing?? Hi, Does anybody have access to the 1855 Sheboygan County census, that can do two lookups for me? In the index for the town of Lima, is a J. Ariens. I would like to know if this could actually be T. Ariens, and if he had anybody else living in the household with him. Also in 1855, there was a Peter Clever living in Abbott. Could it have been Clevers, and how many people were living with him. GEORGIANA SPRAGUE MEAD PASSES AWAY Mother of Mrs. A. Whiffen To Be Buried Beside Her Husband in the Town of Lyndon Cemetery At Eight O’clock Saturday evening the spirit of Mrs. Georgina Sprague Mead passed beyond the river. Mrs. Mead’s demise came after a lingering illness which dated form the last January. Since June9th she had been confined to her bed. The decedent was born in Putman County, New York on November 14th, 1843, attained the age of 65 years. Some fifty years ago she came to this county with her parents, settling in the town of Lyndon. There she had resided up to 15 Years ago when she moved to the home of her daughter at the Sheboygan County Asylum. She was united in marriage to Smith Mead, who died several years ago. Besides her daughter Mrs. Andrews Whiffen, another daughter, Mrs. W. S. Sweet, a missionary at Hangebow, China survives her. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock from the house of Mrs. Whiffen, at the Sheboygan County Insane Asylum of which Mr. Whiffen is superintendent. Interment will be in the Town of Lyndon cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Rev. Elmer E. Dresser of the First Baptist church will officiate in the funeral ceremony. I have no conection to this family...just posting it because I thought someone MIGHT be able to use it.

Mr. Mueller was born in the town of Wilson on September 6, 1855. For a number of years past he resided with his brother, Henry Mueller also a prominent town of Wilson farmer. Besides this brother, a sister, survives. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:30 o’clock from the home of his brother. Rev. Oesch will officiate. Interment will be made in the town of Wilson.

Hi, All Catholic church records up to 1920 are housed at the archdiocese of Milwaukee. Even if you write to the church, they will forward your letter there. The St. George in the Town of Wilson is not the same St. George's you are asking about. At one time in Sheboygan County there were 2 St. George's Church. The one in the Town of Rhine area is now St. Thomas Aquinas. The church itself is located in the Elkhart Lake area, the church records to 1920 are at the Milwaukee Archidocese.
