She was born September 14, 1893 in Fredonia, WI, the daughter of the late Oscar and Rose (Lens) Claus. In 1910 Bessie was united in marriage to William Willing. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1946. Bessie then married Armond Bauer on October 29, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1972. Survivors include one son, Raymond (Margene) Willing, Neenah; one daughter, Dorothy Witkowski, Neenah; one son-in-law, Cecil McKay, Marion; two daughters-in-law, Susan Willing, Neenah and Betty Willing, Janesville; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Bessie was preceded in death by three sons, Ferdinand, Erville and Willard Willing; one daughter, Bernice McKay, one son-in-law, Andy Witkowski, one daughter-in-law, Tillie Willing, four sisters, Ethel Willing, Bernice Hinke, Lucy Gasser and Erma Bossell and two brothers, Wilbert Clauss and Clarence Clauss. Funeral services were held January 30, 1999 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. The Rev. Joseph Thario officiated. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, township of Hutchins, Shawano County.
