Mahkimetas Alfred J. Mahkimetas, age 41 of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in Appleton. Born on Oct. 10, 1967 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Ernesto Zamora and Gloria (Neconish) Mahkimetas. Alfred enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching movies, doing pencil drawings of fantasy artwork, and spending time with his family especially his beloved nieces and nephews. Alfred is survived by: three sisters, Tracy (Bill) Waukau of Appleton, Jane Mahkimetas of Shawano, Mary Ellen Mahkimetas of Shawano; one brother, Nolan (Rene/) Mahkimetas of Keshena; nine nieces and nephews, Yolanda (Madosh) Shawanokasic, Nolan Alfred Mahkimetas, Angela Alamos, Sergio Meraz, Bianca Sims, Chayan Alamos, Nicole Peters, Wesley Waukau, Mariah Waukau; a very special aunt, Frances Zamora; and several cousins. Alfred was preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Wesley Peters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Neopit Community Center after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service.
