He was born August 26, 1883 in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin, the son of the late Antone and Sophie (Marquette) Kautza. Henry was united in marriage to Mary Jansen. She preceded him in death on April 29, 1953. Survivors include three sons, Sherman Kautza, Omro, Leonard (Maude) Kautza and Clifford (Catherine) Kautza, both of Aniwa; one daughter, Monica (George) Steckbauer, Schofield; 26 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Martha Lutzke, Sheboygan, Josephine (Frank) Zettler, Athens and Lillian (Al) Barth, St. Petersberg, FL. In addition to his wife and parents, Henry was preceded in death by two sons, Bernard and Walter and one grandson. Funeral services were held October 29, 1963 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa.
