She was born February 6, 1889 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Muhlbauer) Duffek. On October 3, 1922 Theresa was united in marriage to William Herbst in Aniwa. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1962. Survivors include one son, Leonard Herbst, New Berlin, WI; one daughter, Mary Slagowski, Schofield; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by three sons, Tony Loritz, Clarence and Charles Herbst. Funeral services were held January 12, 1988 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. The Rev. Donald Laux officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
