Michaelis Dale P. Michaelis, age 38 years, of Benbrooks Lane, Tigerton, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the Town of Birnamwood. Dale Patrick Michaelis was born Jan. 22, 1971 in Tigerton to Marlyn and Diane "Peggy" (O'Laughlin) Michaelis. For several years after Tigerton High School he worked as a carpenter with Selle Construction in Tigerton. Then for a few years, Dale was a laborer with Zenith Tech of Waukesha building bridges. About 10 years ago, he started Dale Michaelis Logging and became an owner and operator. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Dale played catcher for many years on the local softball tavern league. He enjoyed four-wheeling, going fishing, his two German shepherds, and volunteering as a Little League umpire. Survivors include his fiancee, Lori Stenson, and their five children; Asher, Mason, David, Houston, and Dylan; his parents, Marlyn and Peggy Michaelis of Tigerton; and two sisters, Lisa (Ken) Michaelis-Alft of Eagle River and Kari (friend Wayne Hirt) Michaelis of Tigerton. Dale is further survived by his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Mathwig of Tigerton, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Agnes Michaelis, and his maternal grandfathers, Gilbert O'Laughlin and Erwin "Butch" Mathwig. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Matthew Uttenreither will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
