Adeline was born May 16, 1915 in Waubun, MN. As a young child, she moved with her family to Bejou, MN, and then Table Rock, NE. After a couple years, her family moved back to the Mahnomen, MN, area. In 1937 Adeline married Elwood Priebe in Rhinelander, and together they raised three daughters. They moved to Milwaukee in 1942, worked at Badger Meter for thirty years, and retired and moved to Suring in November, 1982. Adeline joined Faith United Lutheran Church soon after, and was a member of its Ladies Aid. Adeline enjoyed sewing for the residents at Woodlands Nursing Home in Suring. Adeline helped out at the Thrift Shop in Shawano and Green Bay, and worked with the quilting gals until she was no longer able to. Adeline had an independent spirit. Even at the age of 94, she loved to bake, cook and sew. She continued to live in her own home, and loved to do her own yard work. Adeline loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and make quilts for all her children and grandchildren. Adeline was very giving and supportive of others and loved visiting with all her friends and family. She was also very grateful for every little thing you did for her, and was never one to draw attention to herself. Adeline is survived by two daughters, Dorla Miller of Shawano, WI, and Murylene Clements of Suring, WI; a son-in-law, Kenneth of Suring, WI; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Beilke; two sisters, Elsie Hlubek, and Rose Landsverk; and her brother, Rudy Uhlir. Visitation will be held at Faith United Lutheran Church in Gillett on Saturday, June 20, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Laatsch officiating. Burial to follow in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A special thank you to Woodlands Nursing Home of Gillett, Woodlands Nursing Home of Suring, and their staffs for the care given to Adeline, also Heartland Hospice.
