Sippl, age 80, Birnamwood, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 under the care of LeRoyer Hospice at his home. He was born February 24, 1928 in Aniwa, the son of the late Frank and Barbara (Resch) Sippl. On September 3, 1947, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Heinzen in Phlox. She survives. Edward was a dairy farmer and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa, the Holy Name Society and also served on the Aniwa Town Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards but especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Jeanette, he is survived by six sons; Earl (Pat) Sippl, Tom (Connie) Sippl, Bob (Lucy) Sippl, Paul (Mary) Sippl, all of Birnamwood, Nick (Linda) Sippl, Washington Crossing, PA, and Pete (Tracy) Sippl, Seymour, three daughters; Rita (Gordon) Layton, Nekoosa, Diane (Joe) Di Battista, Fort Walton Beach, FL and Judy Wood, Milwaukee; 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann Traska, Cottage Grove. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Sippl and Joe Sippl and three sisters, Bertha Schmidt, Mary Beran and Irene Kriha. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. Rev. Everard Scesney, O.F.M. will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of services all at the church.
