She was born on March 5, 1908 in Aniwa, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Steckbauer) Zarda. On June 30, 1926 Rose married Perry "P.W." Nolan at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1989. Survivors include two sons, Jim (Audrey) Nolan, and Bill (Kathy) Nolan; three daughters-in-law, Betty Nolan, Rhonda Nolan, and Jeanne Jungwirth; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sons, Clifford, Jerome, Roger, and Jack; one brother, Edward Zarda; and two sisters, Irene Ullenbrauck and Mae Martyn. The Funeral Mass was celebrated August 11, 1998 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa. The Rev. Everard Scesney, OFM, officiated. Interment was in the Parish Cemetery, Aniwa.
