Wolf Evelyn S. Wolf, age 100. formerly of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009. She was born on July 17, 1908 in Leopolis to the late Emil and Emma (Kristof) Steinke. On May 24, 1930 she married Walter C. Wolf at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1970. A graduate of Shawano High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Evelyn was a teacher in the Shawano and Gresham School District. Survivors include: her daughter, Pat (David) Baumgartner of Green Bay; and her son, Donald (Gail) Wolf of Elkhorn. She is further survived by: her grandchildren, Janet (Chris) Fendos, Michelle (Clyde Charlton) Baumgartner, Karen (Peter) Hall, Michael (Mallary) Baumgartner, Kathy (Dodd) Davey; her great-grandchildren, Torin and Taylor Fendos, Alexander and Nicholas Hall, Derek, Devon and Drew Davey, Dylan Charlton, Nathan and Rebecca Baumgartner; and a sister-in-law, Mary Steinke. Evelyn was also preceded in death by: her brothers, George, Melvin and Allen Steinke; and her sisters, Lena Reminger, Anna Sazama, Alice Grove, Irene Arity, Loretta Stezenski and Mae Jeske. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ronald Raddatz officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday after 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Shawano City-County Library. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
