Alesch Alice G. Alesch, age 83, passed away on Sunday October 4th, 2009 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care residence in Fitchburg, Wis. She was born on March 4th, 1926 in Bonduel, Wis. the daughter of Louis and Genevieve (Darinski) Dingeldein. Alice graduated from Bonduel High School in 1943 and St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1947. She was very proud of her career as a registered nurse and served in clinics and hospitals in Madison, Neenah, Appleton, and Green Bay, finishing up her nursing career at Gisholt Machine Company in Madison as an industrial nurse. Alice was united in marriage to Robert Anthony Alesch on Nov. 25th, 1948 in Shawano, Wisconsin. Throughout their marriage, Bob and Alice traveled to many locations around the United States and Europe. Alice enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a devoted Packer and Badger fan. She attended many home Badger football games with Bob, as long time season ticket holders. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Alice was in the St. Peter's Church choir and a member of the Madison Diocesan Choir, where she formed lifelong friendships and traveled all over to sing in different cathedrals and churches, even making recordings of their concerts. Alice was talented with arts and crafts, especially enjoying photography, cross-stitch, and ceramics, resulting in many gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed knitting blankets, scarfs, and mittens but was best known for her knitted dish clothes. Alice is survived by Robert, her loving husband of 61 years; her children, David, Michael (Anndee), Richard (Nancy), Barbara (Don) Schultz, and Teri (Petra) Alesch; her seven grandchildren Adam (Bryenne), Daniel (Trish), Todd, Jon (Lacey), Steve Alesch, Kelsey (Chad) Jelsma and Jon Karns; and her five great grandchildren Kayna, Raelyn, Cadence, Hayden Alesch, and Addelyn Jelsma. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws; her brother, Bob Dingeldein and great-granddaughter, Ahnikha Alesch. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave. with Father James Walsh officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7th, 2009 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 until the time of Mass at the church on Thursday. Her family wishes to thank Dr. David Watts and Dr. John McDermitt of UW Hospital and Clinics for their years of compassionate care for Alice. The family is grateful to the staff of the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center for their care during Alice's final weeks. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make memorials to the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, Wis. 53711.
