Buettner Jerry D. Buettner, age 78 of Shawano, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 in Shawano. Born on July 18, 1931 in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Roy A. and Vivian (Seering) Buettner. After graduating from high school, Jerry enlisted with the United States Army on Aug. 23, 1949 and served his country for more than three years. After discharge from service, Jerry worked as a social worker for Shawano and Menominee Counties. He then owned and operated V&E Distributing. On May 29, 1998 he was united in marriage to Linda Campbell in Las Vegas. Jerry was a member of the Shawano Masonic Lodge 170 F&AM and the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Jerry is survived by: his wife, Linda; three sons, Scott (Kathy) Buettner of MS, Bradd Buettner of Neenah, Ross Buettner of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Scott, Jeffrey, Brittany; one brother, Douglas Buettner; and two sisters, Sally (James) Davis and Vanice (Marshall) Schultz. A Masonic Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano, followed by a memorial service with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the funeral home following the service. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday after 2:30 p.m. until the time of the services.
