Opal was born in Suring, on Feb. 13, 1918, to the late John and Blanche (Little) Tousey. She married Guy Erb Sr. on Dec. 25, 1937, in Shawano County. The couple lived and farmed in the Suring area all of their married lives. Opal enjoyed her garden, and truly loved her family, especially all of her grandchildren. She is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed. Opal is survived by her daughter, Blanche (Ron) Brenwall, Keil, Wis.; five sons, John "Jack" (Ethel) Erb, Manitowoc; Martin Erb, Oconto Falls; Guy Jr. (Kathy) Erb, Suring; Allan (Pat) Erb, PoySippi, Wis.; Clair (LouAnn) Erb, Krakow; two sisters, Pat Davids, Bowler; Bessie Maciejowski, Mundaline, Wis. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Sr. on April 30, 1984; an infant son, Lewellyn; three brothers, Gordon, Mick "Bernard," Irwin "Smoke"; two sisters, Myrtle, and Velma; two grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating.
