Garvin, 80 POPLAR GROVE - Helen M. Garvin, 80, of Poplar Grove, formerly of Shawano, Wis., passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, in Rockford. Born Oct. 22, 1919, in Elderon, Wis., to Frank and Theresa (Schafberger) Meyer. Graduated from Marion High School and Beauty College. Married Maynard Labutzke on June 19, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa. They were married for 53 years. Maynard died in 1993. Married Fred Garvin in 1993 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano. Helen owned and operated beauty salons in Shawano and Bonduel, Wis. She had a lovely voice, and was a member of the Song Birds, Shawano, and member/conductor of the Senior Swing Band, North Fort Myers, Fla. also enjoyed golfing and playing the piano and organ. Member of St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere. Survivors include husband, Fred of Poplar Grove stepchildren, Fred Garvin III of Carol Stream, Pamela Motta of DeBorgia, Mont., and Patricia (Dave) Yates of Kalamazoo, Mich sisters, Ann Frankow of Marion, Wis., Inez (Jim) Werner of C! lintonville, Wis., Mary (Alvin) Zimdars of Tilleda, Wis., Marcella (B.J.) Brady of Caroline, Wis., and Virginia Peterson of Menasha, Wis. brother-in-law, Lester (Evelyn) Labutzke sister-in-law, Loretta Wartman of Bonduel and numerous nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by parents infant brothers, Peter and Phillip and brothers-in-law, Lee Peterson, Weston Frankow and Fran Wartman. Services at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano, with Father Len Evers officiating. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in Zastrow Funeral Home, 414 S. Warrington Ave., Cecil, Wis., and from 10 a.m. to service time Friday in the church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, in St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere. "Her loving and sharing spirit will be sadly missed by everyone."
