Born on Oct. 7, 1940 in Shawano, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Griepp) Peters. Fred attended Shawano High School and farmed on the family farm in the town of Belle Plaine his entire life. On Nov. 30, 1963 he was united to June Mehlberg at the Zion Lutheran Church in Caroline. Fred was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Fred is survived by: his wife, June; son, Darrin (Ronda) Peters of Shawano; daughter, Kristine (Gene) Fischer of Cecil; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon and Lindsey Peters and Kyle and Megan Fischer. Fred is further survived by a brother, Douglas (Delores) Peters of Minneapolis, Minn; and a sister, Marlene Peters of Shawano. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Howard Buenting officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
