Bud was born in Laona on July 5, 1923, the son of Edward and Barbara (Borske) Britten. Bud married the former Frieda Spencer on Nov. 8, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1997. Through life Bud worked at Connor Forest Industries, built homes and did masonry work. He especially enjoyed helping his son with his farm. Bud was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Laona. He is survived by daughters, Donna (Jim) Christman, Bonduel, Wis.; Susie (John) Cleereman, Newald; sons, Eddie (Linda) Britten, Pewaukee; Greg (Pam) Britten, Laona; Don (Ann) Britten, Suring; Jason Britten, Appleton; sisters, Loretta Pakulski, Milwaukee; Gert Pawlak, Milwaukee; brother, Len Britten, Wausau; grandchildren, Lindsay, Travis, Courtney, Johnny, Taylor, Megan, Brittney, Allyson, Daisy, Shannon, Ricky, Danny and Tina. In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Laona. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 with Pastor Sheldon Kerstner officiating. Final resting place will be at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
