The daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kabara) Pasowicz was born Sept. 19, 1920, in the town of Maple Grove. On Oct. 22, 1940, she married Anton Smith in Pulaski. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women at Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski. She loved to play cards and was a member of the Bridge Marathon group at the parish. Bernice was, "The best cook ever." Survivors include one son, Donald Smith, Merrill; and one daughter, Marlene Smith, Green Bay; one daughter-in-law, Rita Smith, Whitehall; three grandchildren, Thomas (Stacey) Smith, Merrill; Michael Smith, Port Washington; and Jacqueline Smith, Merrill; two step great-grandchildren, Britney and McKayla; one brother, Edmund (Lorraine) Pasowicz, Oneida; four sisters, Regina Bogacz, Pulaski; Sr. Florence Pasowicz, SSJ-TOSF, Stevens Point; Dolores (John) McIntyre, Hot Springs Village, Ark.; Lorraine (Ron) Schwabenlender, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother-in-law, Jerry Kozicki, Pulaski; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; a son, Norbert, in 1998; three brothers, Edward (Regina), Raymond and John Pasowicz; four sisters, Helen, Adeline and Verna Pasowicz and Irene Kozicki; and one brother-in-law, Edmund Bogacz. Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Closing prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues after 9:30 a.m. Monday at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Pulaski. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, Fr. Dane Radecki, O. Praem., presiding and Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., and Fr.
