Charles Appleton Age 84, died on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Appleton Medical Center. R.C. was born in Eland, Wisconsin on November 2, 1919, the son of the late Henry and Thalita (Stelter) Wolfinger. He loyally served his Country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. R.C. married Celia "Billie" M. Byrne in Milwaukee on June 15, 1946. She preceded him in death on January 23, 1987. R.C. will be greatly missed by his children, Patricia (Rodney) Petersen James (Cynthia) Wolfinger Wendy (Craig) Mikolanz his brother, Henry he was known as "Poppa" by his grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie), Eric and Kelly Petersen Michelle (Tim) Sorenson and Bill (Tammy) Mikolanz Megan and Nicole Wolfinger "Great Poppa" by his great-grandchildren, Olivia Sorenson and Carson and Tanner Petersen. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori sister, Verna Mullett and brother, Earl. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH of CHRIST, 724 East So! uth River Street, Appleton, with Rev. John T. Mcfadden officiating. Visitors will be received at the church on Thursday, December 18 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to benefit the First Congregational U.C.C. are appreciated.
