Betty J. Tuma, 65, W 5547 Church Rd., Shawano died on Saturday, July 8, 2000 in the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano Co., Wis. She was born on October 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Thoedore and Lorena (Reetz) Utke. She was married on April 2, 1955 at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Belle Plaine to Donald "Bud" Tuma, he preceded her in death on May 25, 1997. She and her husband farmed in the town of Waukechon all of their marred life. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Shawano, The Faith Circle and served as Vice President of the Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery Association. She enjoyed farming, reading, family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by five children, Jean (Richard) Zoglman, Gresham Wayne (Luann) Tuma, Patti Tuma, Lori (Gene) Gagner and Fay (Dave) Braatz, all of Shawano seven grandchildren, Michelle (fiance, Dennis Zack) Zoglman Brian Zoglman Katie Tuma Krissy Tuma Kraig Tuma Jenna Tuma and Melissa Gagner one brother, Harold (Elsie) Utke, Marion and a sister-in-law, Blanche Utke, Shawano. She was preceded in death by on brother, Earl. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. from Jerusalem Lutheran Church at Lunds, Wis. with the Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of service.
