Ehlert Lloyd G. Ehlert, age 89, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at a local nursing home. Born on Feb. 18, 1920 in the Town of Waukechon, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ella (Schultz) Ehlert. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during World War II. On May 20, 1950 he was united in marriage to Rogean Barndt in Embarrass. Lloyd worked as a machinist at F.W.D. in Clintonville and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Lloyd is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Rogean; three sons, Bruce Ehlert of Anderson, S.C., Larry (Carol) Ehlert of Antigo, Richard Ehlert of Shawano; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Joylen (Edwin) Baldwin of DePere. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Fred Zimmermann officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano with military rites conducted by the Shawano V.F.W. Post 2723.
