BYLER Sept. 29, 1920 -Feb. 1, 2009 LAGRANGE - Lester J. Byler, 88, of 0130 W. 300 S., died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 1, 2009) in Parkview LaGrange Hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Nappanee, to John G. and Lovina (Burkholder) Byler. On April 24, 1941, in LaGrange County, he married Ella W. (Miller) Byler. She survives along with six daughters, Edna Miller, Leanna (Melvin J.) Yoder and Luella (Mervin E.) Miller, all of LaGrange, Arlene (Ivan H.) Bontrager of Bonduel, Wis., Ruth (Aaron N.) Miller of Ligonier and Velma (Perry C.) Yoder ofTopeka; two sons, Mervin L. (Rebecca) Byler of Wolcottville and Vernon L. (Edna Fern) Byler of LaGrange; 44 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 26 stepgreat-grandchildren; one greatgreat-grandchild; one sister, Elizabeth Byler of Shipshewana; and one brother, Elmer (Anna) Byler of Nappanee. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Atlee Miller; one great-grandchild; one stepgrandchild; one brother, Joe Byler; two sisters, Lydia Mae and Mary Miller; and seven stepsiblings. Mr. Byler was a dairy farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Friends may call all day today at theVernon L. Byler home, 0090W. 300 S., LaGrange. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Miller home, 0115 W. 300 S., LaGrange. Bishop Marvin Graber and the home ministers will officiate.
