The son of the late Walter and Mary (Grzeskowiak) Kowalkowski was born October 3, 1925, in Pulaski. Frank graduated from Pulaski High School in 1943. On May 20, 1950, he married the former Florence Stepien. The couple shared fifty-five wonderful years together. After returning from the Merchant Marines, Frank started his concrete construction business, Pulaski Ready Mix. In 1967, he moved the business to Ashwaubenon under the name of Red-D-Mix Concrete Inc. The business later expanded to include a second location in the Fox Valley area. Frank also owned and operated Frank's Mushrooms in Sobieski. He was always appreciative of his many loyal employees and customers. Frank's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends, especially at his cottage. While living courageously with cancer for the past two years, Frank joyfully! embraced life, continuing to enjoy and appreciate his many blessings. He was a lifelong member of Assumption BVM Parish in Pulaski, where he was an usher for many years and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Bona Council #4439, Pulaski. Frank was also very involved in the community. He was a member of the Pulaski Historical Society, Tri-County Community Corp., Crooked Lake Association and had been a member of the McCauslin Lake Association in Lakewood, the Wisconsin and National Ready-Mix-Concrete Associations and the Brown County Home Builders Association. In addition to his wife, Florence, he is further survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian "Skip" (Karrie) Kowalkowski, Green Bay, and their children, Katlin, Jonah, and Eli, Frank Jr. (Julie) Kowalkowski, De Pere, and their children, Emma, Olivia, and Grace, two daughters and one son-in-law, Michaeleen "Mickey" Kowalkowski Roy, Howard, and her children, Michael and Nicholas, Debbie Kowalkowski-Funk (Dick), Abrams, and their children, Logan and Breanna,one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores (Robert) Nowak,one sister-in-law, Alice Kowalkowski,and Florence's brothers and sisters, Sophie Kraszewski, Lloyd (Dottie) Stepien, Louis (Marion) Stepien, Marie (Ben) Schoenborn, Lorraine Stepien, Dennis (Joanne) Stepien, Jerry (Dottie) Stepien, Bonnie (Dick) McDermid, and Tom (Diane) Stepien,many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Frank was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta (Louis) Walla, one brother, Sigmund Kowalkowski, and Florence's relatives, Julie (Bob) Heinzen, Sr. Dolorice (Stephanie Stepien), and Donald Kraszewski. Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY). Parish wake service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation continues after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Pulaski. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. presiding with entombment in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. i>A Memorial Fund has been established. The family extends a special thank you to Fr. Patrick, Fr. Brendan and Janet from Assumption B.V.M. Parish, Unity Hospice, relatives and friends for their loving support and care. The Red-D-Mix Concrete Inc. offices will be closed from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday during the time of Frank's funeral. The family extends a special thank you to Fr. Patrick, Fr.
