"Fritz" Frederick "Fritz" Deering, 78, Bonduel, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, in Green Bay. He was born June 27, 1921, in the Town of Hartland. Fritz married Hilda Krause Sept. 5, 1942, in Bonduel. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as an Interpreter. Fritz and Hilda farmed in the town of Lessor for 35 years before moving to Bonduel in 1982. Hilda preceded him in death Aug. 4, 1994. Fritz was Groundskeeper for Bonduel State Bank and he did farm work for Harvey Buss. He enjoyed farming and he loved his garden. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Bonduel, where he was a former Trustee. Fritz was a 50-year member of American Legion Post 217, Bonduel. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Stan Sumnicht, Bonduel; two granddaughters, Sheila Sumnicht, Bonduel; and Heidi (David) Smith, Bonduel; also a sister, Myrtle Gipp, Shawano; and special friends, Luke and Sharilyn Cackovic and their children, Luke and James; and a special nephew, Tom Wiltzius. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Briggs and Leila Zilkoski; and a brother, Herman Deering. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, Bonduel, with the Rev. James H. Cotter officiating. Burial, with military rites by American Legion Post 217, will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Friends may call at Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to the time of service.
