Viola was born in Luxemburg on Feb. 12, 1905, to the late Joseph and Theresa (Pankratz) Thibaudeau. She graduated from Luxemburg High School and UW Oshkosh with a degree in education. Viola taught primary school in one-room schoolhouses in Ryan, Brussels and Aniwa, until the time of her marriage. Viola married Ralph Hanrahan on June 30, 1931 and moved to Kewaunee following her marriage. She and her husband farmed and owned and operated Hanrahan's Lakeside Dairy until his death on Oct. 5, 1972. They loved to travel and toured Europe, Africa, Alaska, Hawaii, Australia and much of the United States. Vi was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee and the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Kewaunee County Historical Society and the Kewaunee Co. Homemakers. She loved gardening, birds and all of the outdoors, playing Scrabble and make Lefse at Christmas time for her family. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Mary, Kewaunee four grandchildren, Kathy (Dave) Miller, Michael (Kim) Hanrahan, Dan (Shawn) Hanrahan, all of Kewaunee and Scott Hanrahan, Minneapolis, Minn. eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney and Travis Miller, Stephanie, Mikayla and Shane Hanrahan and Cameron and Maxwell Hanrahan one sister-in-law, Donna Thibaudeau, Luxemburg and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents husband, Ralph sister, Verna (Herbert) Heim brothers, Gerald (Evelyn), Milton (Margaret), Ernest and Claude (Mary Ann) Thibaudeau and one sister-in-law, Catherine Hanrahan. Visitation at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, 4 to 8 on Friday, Nov. 23. Parish Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation continues Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. until departure to church. Funeral at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Dan Dewane officiating. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to Bornemann Nursing Home, Green Bay and Linzmeier Care Center in Luxemburg, with a special thank you to Linda and Luke.
