Roy C. Whitehouse, age 87, rural Wittenberg, died on Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital after a short illness. He was born on May 3, 1912, in the town of Aniwa, Shawano County the son of the late Sidney and Mary (Reuechert) Whitehouse. He was united in marriage to Beatrice A. Kielman on May 8, 1935, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bowler. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1998. Roy worked as a woodsman, operated a dairy farm in the town of Almon, Shawano County and had been employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for a road construction company. After semiretiring he was employed by the former Wittenberg Block Plant for a number of years. Roy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tigerton. He took great pride in his lawn, garden and flowers. Survivors include two sons, Robert Whitehouse, Heartland Health Care Center, Shawano; Gerald (Sue) Whitehouse, Green Bay; one daughter, Mary Ann (James) Martin, Wausau; eight grandchildren, John Whitehouse, Michael Whitehouse, Mary Gail Whitehouse, Lauren Whitehouse, Paula Block, Jeffrey (Patti) Block, Scott Block and Craig Block and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Block. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Whitehouse, and one sister, Edna Postler. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
