Bowsher Donald R. Bowsher, 77, died at 11:47 a.m. April 4, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Lima to Burdette and Florence Peters Bowsher, who preceded him in death. On June 2, 1951, he married Christina R. Bowersock, who survives. Mr. Bowsher worked for 40 years at Lima Register as a press operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elida. He loved his family, especially all his grandchildren, and he greatly enjoyed camping and fishing, and his dog, Christopher. Survivors also include four children, Michael (Julie) Bowsher, of Quincy, Mich., Cheryl Fisher, of St. Marys, Charles (Dee) Bowsher, of Lima, and Dennis (Shara) Bowsher, of Elida; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Bill (Lucy) Bowsher, of Lima, Jack (Caroline) Bowsher and Walter (Beverly) Bowsher, both of Cygnet, Catherine (Robert) Weyer, of Bluffton, and Norma Bowsher, of Findlay; a sister-in-law, Nancy Bowsher, of Luckey; a brother-in-law, Fred (Lucy) Bowersock, of Gresham, Wis., and special neighbors, the Dan Hunt family. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Fisher; a brother, Kenneth Bowsher; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elida. The Rev. Ruth Solo will officiate. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Lima, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church Building Fund.
