Carl O. Gardebrecht, age 81, Bonduel, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000. He was born July 8, 1919, in the Town of Howe, Oconto County, to the late Richard and Mary (Schoss) Gardebrecht. Carl served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He worked for the Pulaski Shoe Factory for many years. He married Lucille Schultz Sept. 27, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church, Zachow. The couple lived in Bonduel all of their married life. After retiring, Carl worked for the Village of Bonduel. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and traveling. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, with the Rev. Tim Shoup officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Friends may call at Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of service.
