Tomashek Robert D. Tomashek, age 72, of Cloverleaf Lake Road, Clintonville, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. Robert David Tomashek was born March 6, 1937 in Milwaukee to the late Bernard and Viola (Allender) Tomashek. After graduating high school he entered the U.S. Air Force serving from 1955 to 1958 as a B36 and B52 Tail Gunner. Bob was united in marriage on Sept. 8, 1956 to Polly R. Jens in Milwaukee. He was employed by General Motors / Delco in Oak Creek for over 30 years as an electronics engineer, retiring at the end of 1998. His wife Polly preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2000. On April 13, 2002 he married Frances (Nans) West in Hartford. Bob is a former president of the Cloverleaf Lake Association and a former supervisor for the Town of Belle Plaine. He is an active member of St. Rose Church; volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister, singing in the Men's Choir, and serving as Sexton for the Parish Cemetery. His other interests included golfing, fishing, camping, and he was an avid Packer fan. Bob especially enjoyed "wintering" in Florida, going on trips out west to the mountains, relaxing on the lake, and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Fran, and four children; Terri (Jeff) Makoutz of Sparks, Nev., Cindy (Wayne) Peshek of Pewaukee, Sandra Tomashek of Brookfield, and David (Jane) Tomashek of Hartford. There are 13 grandchildren; Josh (Jill), Jason, Drew (Alex), Luke, Anna and Daniel Makoutz, Katie and Megan Peshek, Adam, Tyler, Tia, Alex and Mya Tomashek. There are three great-grandchildren; Ruby, Adeline and Lucy Makoutz. Bob is further survived by a brother, Dick (Ria) Tomashek of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Donna (Gary) Madison of Mukwonago; three step children, a step grandson and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Polly, and a brother, Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 5 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. John "Jack" Mullarkey and Parish Director Patricia DeGroot will officiate. Burial will be on Friday in Riverside Cemetery in Embarrass. Military honors will be provided by members of the American Legion 63 and VFW Post 664, both of Clintonville. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of Mass at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family. Online condolences may sent via www.beil-didier.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Bob's name.
