He was born May 31, 1933, to the late Carl and Lillian (Gyrion) Gloede in Waupaca. He was united in marriage on Novemeber 3, 1961, to Joan Janzen in Milwaukee. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a revenue agent for the state of Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching football and Nascar racing. His biggest love was for his entire family. He was in the United States Air Force and a member of the Cecil American Legion Post 0392. Survivors include his wife, Joan two daughters, Cheryl McCarthy, Kimberly Jolene (Robert) Van Thiel, Kimberly two sons, Lawrence A. (Laura) Gloede, Jr., Cecil Michael and Fay Gloede, Cecil 14 grandchildren a great-granddaughter a brother, Carl (Janet) Gloede, New London a sister, Dorothy Janzen, Milwaukee also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily McCarthy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 1999, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington, Bonduel, with the Rev. David P. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, on Tuesday, November 2, from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from noon until the time of services.
