Dyer J. Holyoke Jr., 82, Green Bay, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at a local nursing home. He was born Jan. 26, 1924, to the late Dyer and Marie (Reed) Holyoke in Oconto, Wis. Dyer served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. On May 31, 1952, he married Evelyn Olson in Oconto. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2006. He had been employed at Northwest Engineering and was an avid Packers fan. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie (David) Karnopp, Green Bay; Cheryl (Joe) Becher, Briarton, Wis.; two grandsons, Shane (Dawn) Becher, Seymour; Josh (Jenni) Becher, Pulaski; two great-grandchildren, Tristen and Chloe Becher, Seymour; brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Ellen) Holyoke; sister and brother-in-law, Eyvon (Bob) Haig; two sister-in-laws, Florence Loberger and Myrtle Olson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, and infant daughter. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St., where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Froseth officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto.
