Bertha was born May 25, 1908, in the town of Easton to the late William and Louise (Neuendank) Barden. She married Harry Kole on June 29, 1929, in the town of Easton. Harry preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1971. Bertha and her husband farmed for many years in the town of Easton. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and baking for her neighbor. Bertha is survived by her daughter, Elaine (John) Polley of Aniwa; grandson, Kim (Mickey) Polley, Marion, Iowa; three stepgrandchildren, Christina, Tiffany and Danielle Clark, all of Arizona; three stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Cherek, Brokaw, Helen Barden, Ringle, and Katherine Nutter, Minocqua; and one sister-in-law, Luella Barden, Wausau. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Novak; two brothers, Ross and Edgar Barden; and two sisters, Irene Klinkenbloomer and Sadie Burgoyne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at New Hope Community Church, corner of highways J and N. Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery in the town of Easton. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday, all at the church. Helke Funeral Home in Wausau assisted the family with arrangements.
