Rene John Reopelle was born April 27, 1924, the son of Ildage and Alma (Fournier) Reopelle, in Red Lake Falls. He attended school in the area and entered the U.S. Army on July 22, 1944. He was wounded in France and discharged Sept. 10, 1945, receiving the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He married Rosalie Rindeau on June 26, 1976, in Plummer, Minn. They farmed in Terrebonne Township, Red Lake Falls County, Minn., and moved to Red Lake Falls in 1991. She died July 5, 1994. He is survived by sister, Clara Bruggeman, Thief River Falls; and brothers, Robert, Sacramento, Calif., Andrew, Moorhead, Marcel, Gresham, Wis., and Vern, Minot. He was preceded in death by sister, Theresa Tischert. Services:10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Terrebonne. Visitation:4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:45 p.m. prayer service, in Petterson Funeral Home, Red Lake Falls, and one hour before services in the church. Burial:St. Anthony Church Cemetery, Terrebonne.
