Margaret was born, August 30, 1913 the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Lange) Skalmusky in Eland, WI. She married Robert Bernard on January 14, 1930 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna, they celebrated 74 years together, he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. Margaret belonged to Holy Cross Church, the Ladies Altar Society, and was a past member of the Golden Agers. She liked to play cards, dart ball, bake cookies and go shopping. She retired from Multifoods on March 31, 1976 after 31 years of service. She is survived by her daughter and son in law: Betty (Gerald) Nytes of Kaukauna two grandchildren: Nancy (Dan) Meacham, Appleton and their children: Christina, Stefanie and Brianna and Lisa (Keith) Fassbender, Kaukauna, and their children, Megan, Melissa and Kyle a sister, Irene Borree of Darboy and a brother, Marvin (Vivian) Skalmusky of Kaukauna. Her parents, her husband, a sister, Alice Bowlby and a brother-in-law, Alvin Borree, preceded her in death. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday April 12, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarky officiating. Friends will be received on Monday at Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial is being established in Margaret's name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at St. Paul Home for the kindness, care and concern they gave Margaret during her time there.
